The Commonwealth of Australia’s (CoA) Directorate of Operations and Training Area Management (DOTAM) have selected DAMM Australia’s premium partner Radlink Communications to supply and maintain a new multi-technology communication systems for a new Training Area Safety Network (TASNet), servicing 28 Defence training areas across Australia.
Defence will update and improve the existing Communication Systems with the field proven TetraFlex® suite of equipment utilising the latest technology offerings from DAMM Cellular Systems. Consisting of 100+ DAMM TetraFlex® BS422 base stations running DMR Tier III and Analogue mode operating on the same core connected network and NM platform with no single point of failure.
The DAMM BS422 IP65 rated Base Station is ideally suited for the harsh and dynamic environments required for Australian conditions. Giving the ADF the flexibility to run multiple technologies and carriers on the same box at the same time. This will enable the CoA to achieve their objectives of replacing the existing Communication Systems and provide the much-needed updates to the remote training areas, ensuring stable and reliable communications, a prerequisite for the safe and successful training of the Australian Defence Force.
The crucial design criteria is a fully compliant, mission critical, highly resilient system, which will provide the CoA with the reliability necessary for safe training operations. The system will be remotely monitored, optimised and managed to ensure the communication systems have the high availability required for now and for the expected life and demands of the system.
